When I look back it seems like a natural progression from playing pool to random card games to poker (winning a turbo tournament in 2012) and to sports betting.
What's more intruiging is that this is a similar progression for some of the well known sports bettors like Billy Walters.
Sports betting can be very interesting and exciting provided you bet responsibly and set a managable bankroll. I personally have a sports book account with one of the largest sports books in America. YouTube a is a great way to learn more about sports betting and things such as moneylines, math based betting, line shopping etc.
Obviously you don't need to go hardcore like the professionals and bet thousands of Dollars on the outcome of a game. Take my last two bets for example. I staked undefeated, professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jnr against Saul Alvarez and risked $100. The odds were 0.3/1 for a Mayweather win because...it's Mayweather plus I'm a big fan of boxing so it helps when you know about the sport and its players to help make informed decisions.
Sure enough Mayweather won and the sports book payed out the initial stake of $100 plus the $30 winnings. This past weekend though I was going to stake Liverpool against Southamptom in the English Premier League but when I did some homework about these two teams heads up over the years I decided not to bet the game.
Like I feared Southampton pulled off an upset. Shows you the importance of doing your homework...but, and there's always a but...I staked Tottenham against Cardiff City...pretty simple right? Tottenham won the game in the 90th minute!
Talk about heart racing...it is gambling after all. One just has to be smart about it and not go on hunches.
